CiteSeerX - Document Details (Isaac Councill, Lee Giles, Pradeep Teregowda): The mineralized pegmatites of south-east of Keffi town was mapped and the gem minerals studied using Lapidary equipments such as dichroscope, refractometer, loupe, Chelsea filter, veneer caliper, microscope and polariscope. These gems include blue, green and pink beryls, tourmaline, topaz and amethyst. A study of the kinetics of the dissolution of a Nigerian tantalite ore in Nitric acid has been examined. A detailed investigation on the quantitative leaching of the mineral was also carried out. The effects of some parameters such as acid concentration, contact time, temperature, particle size and the stirring rate on dissolution action have been by:

Large compositional variations through Fe-Mn fractionation, followed by Nb-Ta fractionation are typical for pegmatites of the Kibara Belt of Central Africa, pegmatites associated with the Older Granites of Nigeria and many pegmatites in the Damara Belt of by: 4. Evidently, Nigeria has a very rich literary tradition, which continues to this day. Here are some of my recent favourites: Jude Dibia’s Blackbird () A powerful novel about love, jealousy, and the fragility of life. Dibia caught my attention with his first book, Walking With Shadows, a brave and sensitive novel about homosexuality in g: pegmatites.

Late Pan African ages ( Ma) have been recorded for the rare metal pegmatites of central and southwestern Nigeria[37] suggesting emplacement during the end of Pan African Magmatic activity.

The Precambrian Basement Complex of Nigeria consists of migmatite, gneiss, metasediments and metavolcanics that have been intruded by Pan-African Granitoids which consist of granites, gabbros, charnokites, diorites, syenites, dolerites and pegmatites (Wright,McCurry,Kinnaird,Dada et al., ) while the north central area of the crystalline basement of Nigeria has witnessed Cited by: 1.

The emplacement of granites and pegmatites was controlled by late Pan-African shear tectonics.
